I originally created this pattern for a glass plate that I made in a glass class. I loved the plate and decided to share the pattern on this website.

This cactus pattern would work well as fabric applique (quilt block, pillow, tote bag, etc), or as a painting pattern, or as a glass pattern.

Use your imagination and have fun!

Sewing Applique Patterns

PATTERN
My pattern is a jpg file. It prints to approximately 8" x 8". Enlarge or shrink as needed for your project.

Print the pattern. Trace the pattern onto white paper. Then cut out the individual paper pieces.

Fabric APPLIQUE

The sun "beams" can be created using a satin stitch.

GLASS FUSING / PAINTING
Trace the pattern onto glass pieces; then cut out the glass pieces and fuse to the background square. I used a clear glass for my plate and allowed it to "drape" a bit in the kiln, creating a slight curve to the dish.

Painting to glass: trace around the pattern pieces; then use glass markers or paint.
